Songs that make you sing

I rarely get to take a stroll in the big cities that I now live in and sit with my sketchbook and draw.
Last week, we went back to auroville to wind down for the weekend and a friend and I sat down to sketch our surroundings together - it is a distracted sketch, I have to admit . We were busy catching up and I was simply and happily dragging my brush across the paper. Such good times :)

Design All Around

Ive been spoiled thoroughly these past few days - being showered with gifts with valentines day and my birthday around the corner. So Im basking in the love and tirelessly admiring all my pretty new things. 

There is some beautiful design involved here - I thought I would show you around a little :)

A canopy (Ive always wanted one ) for my bed, 

turning it into fantasy sleep land with stars and fairy lights, dreamcatcher and lots of white linen ! and yes, also a man on the moon fishing for a star - you can see his shadow right on the top if you look carefully!

Another dream come true - the incredible wacom intuos 5 made its way into my life two days ago - besides being an incredible tool, it is a gorgeous piece of design. I spend more time looking at it than using it!

It was love at first sight when I saw the Forrest Essentials packaging some months ago.

Another something that Ive always longed for. Not so much the product (though its great!) but more for that

gorgeous scented tissue with real rose petals and the beautiful bag and those gorgeous jars and bottles.

Finally - some plants for our new home. Its amazing how a little green life can alter a space so dramatically.

I plan to grow a whole little garden here, if my not- so- green thumb permits!

I cant believe there was a time when I used to worry about whether I would have enough work to keep me busy for the next month, these days Im frantically trying to hone my time management skills so I can continue doing the kind of work I love to do and work on some incredibly interesting projects. It makes my heart sing- all these lovely things that pop up out of nowhere! 

Weve moved to bangalore for a few months temporarily, and my newest obsession is with sitting in coffee shops and day dreaming with a sketchbook in hand and generally enjoying the fabulous weather that the city is blessed with! Im completely torn between the city and weather and everything else it has to offer and my gorgeous house in chennai, so decided to just sit back and enjoy things as they happen. The only way to make the most of life I suppose :)

Dream Base

This is something Ive been wanting to do for a while now, Nobody tells you how hard it is to take interior shots! what looks good to my eyes, just doesnt come out the same on camera. But finally (with a little help from siddharth, who i frantically called while panicking about wrong light, etc) I shot some that dont look so bad :)
Welcome home ! I havent clicked every little bit, It was a race against fading light, so just the bits that I love. I love the lights hanging from a branch that I installed over my dining table, and the beautiful windows there. I love my kitchen which is so vintage - I painted it mint green to add to that whole feel! And my bedroom - that got painted blue ! I havent done such a super job with little bits of paint dripping onto the floor, im probably going to get yelled at by our landlord when he sees this :) but oh well, makes me happy for now! Its also our first grown up home - with real furniture ! I dont think I mind growing up so much :)

Fish And Eyes

This would be sloth version 2 :) I just couldnt feel very warmly towards the earlier sketch. This one though, is wicked enough me thinks ! *gleeful* Ive already said what I had to about how I feel about Sloth, im not going to repeat myself - how i feel hasnt changed- but i just see it differently now, a bit like a kaleidoscope.

Same colours, different sights. 

A lot of rather interesting things are rearing their heads, I shall tell you of them when things are more certain !But life continues to be good. Im settling down a bit in chennai though my heart sobs for pondicherry. But I love the house here. though its far from pretty and im really not done with it, its surrounded by green goodness and flowers and two happy barking dogs and big big windows so i can feast my eyes on leafy wonders all day. So its good for my mind and soul. Pouring all my love into this house is going to drain me completely i think. Its just so big, its going to be one slow process. 

Maybe after im done, i put up pictures for you to see!
