Brachiosaurus & Pteranodons !

Two of the new words I learned recently ! Its funny how enlightening it is to work with different people !
This illustration was commissioned as a wedding present for an ecologist couple. The brief was nothing short of fantastic, jsut the kind I like to hear - with requests for giant butterfly-eating dragonflies and dragons and a
whole world of dinosaurs. Incredible and I had a brilliant time creating this illusion !

Its been a long while since my last post - Things have been terribly hectic and I seem to have taken my usual nomadic behaviour up by a notch. Sort of in fast forward mode where I was doing the same sort of insane travelling incredibly quickly- leaving me with no time to breathe.  One of my best friends got married last week, so it was one big fat punjabi wedding. Unfortunately I didnt have my camera on me,  though I did ask friends to click a few things that I will post when I recieve them. Ludhiana is an incredibly artistic society. The fabric, the dyeing and sense of fashion there is unbelievable. Ive never seen anything like it !

I will try giving you a glimpse soon :) Have a wonderful week! much love.

The Handpainted Tale

Ive been featured on the Hidesign facebook page as the artist behind its new range of handpainted bags! And the response has been overwhelming, im so excited :) visit www.facebook.com/hidesign ( and scroll down a bit, its been a few days now :) to see me grin away at you!

The very first painting of dragonflies and lilies, inspired by the beautiful surroundings at the factory. Yes i spent a lot of time getting lost in those beautiful lakes and trees! They really made me happy.

The drawing was simplified further so it would look better on a bag, with colours that popped !

And lastly, another bit that Im really proud of, are the LIMITED EDITION tags that I designed specially for this collection. The pink part (the back) of each tag speaks about the artist (yours truly :) and the front is beautifully debossed to look like little drops of paint are sitting on the surface.
The round leather tag says that you own 1 piece of a 100 of these special special products. I love the rustic look of the leather and it looks beautiful hanging off the bag.

Finally, Thank you Ruella and Dipen for putting together a beautiful launch for this collection! And Thank you everyone who somehow found the Hidesign link on their own and for your sweet words of encouragement and love! You had me jumping with joy :) Hope you have a great week ahead, will write in again soon! Much love.

The Long Neck of Pride

Third in my 'deadly ego' series of character sketches. Pride is the fairy that is trapped by her own obsession with self. She is beautiful but the flowers that grow on her are prickly and the mushrooms that grow alongside poisonous. She uses her third eye to admire herself in her mirror. Maybe there could be more to this artwork, im still staring. But I like the way it's coming along so far.

On another note, Ive got myself a new book, Ive been reading Sri M's - A Yogi's Autobiography,
which is a good read and he suggests a lot of other books in it which sound interesting. But im really excited about the one I bought yesterday. Its by Devdutt Patnaik, one of my favourites right now. Its called the 7 secrets of Vishnu. If you like reading about Indian mythoglogy, its looks like a great book! Will tell you more as I get further along.

We had a really great weekend, very peaceful. And visited the canyon in Auroville. Its beautiful. I really should start carrying my camera with me everywhere. A friend also had some gorgeous documentaries which we watched (lots more to go) But do check out http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/planet-earth/ and try to get hold of these. The world really is so beautiful and so much bigger than us.
